Creating local growth through culture

Your Cultural Compact for Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole

Enhance and promote arts and culture across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

Creativity that connects

We are driven by the fact that culture changes lives. By strengthening our shared connections across the cultural sector and beyond we want to use this collective power to create opportunity and improved wellbeing for everyone who lives, works and plays in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP).

The BCP Cultural Compact is one of 20 set up around the UK to support towns and cities to develop new approaches to boost culture.

What we do

Strengthening communities

The Cultural Compact brings together cultural organisations, businesses and practitioners to enhance and promote arts and culture across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

By fostering inclusivity and creativity, we aim to create a thriving cultural community that enriches the lives of residents and visitors, and boosts the local economy.

The Cultural Compact works to support the development of arts, heritage, and creative industries, ensuring that culture plays a central role in shaping the conurbation’s future success and the wellbeing of all its residents.

Three key themes underpin our work…

Talent

Attracting developing and retaining diverse talent, making BCP an obvious choice for building a high quality creative career or developing creative skills at any life-stage.

Places

Strengthening the connections between our communities and the places in which we live, work, learn and play: nurturing possibility, inspiring ideas and breaking down barriers to creation and participation.

Infrastructure

Developing our infrastructure of networks and spaces (physical and digital) to experiment, make, share and present accessible creative work.
