Your Shout Network is a Global Majority-led network for creative leaders, founders, entrepreneurs, and festival directors working across the BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole) locality and beyond. It builds directly on the legacy of the ‘Your Shout Survey’ and the ‘BCP Cultural Diversity Report,’ both commissioned by the BCP Council and the Cultural Compact. https://www.natashaplayer.co.uk/your-shout
The network comprises:
- Afrodisiac Live – Bournemouth Reggae Weekender
- BRAC – Boscombe Radical Artist Collective
- DEED (Global Development Education Agency)
- Dorset Mela
- Evision Music Group
- Independent Established Artists and Producers
- Youth-representative Healing for Artists
Founded and facilitated by Natasha Player & Co., the network aims to cultivate unity and foster collaborative work. Its core mission is to enhance the voice and representation of often marginalised and under-represented voices within the arts and cultural sector. Members are connected through their successful impact and extensive knowledge in programming outdoor festivals, producing diverse events and exhibitions and working with local and international artists and delivering culturally relevant community activities for both residents and visitors to the BCP and wider Dorset region.
The Your Shout Network strives to connect and strengthen partnerships, facilitate the sharing of knowledge, skills, and resources, and collectively address challenges. By working together, the network aims to develop a stronger, unified voice as established ‘Leaders of the Future.’ Opening up opportunities for members to build on their already successful impact with the communities they serve and further connect with each other and the broader arts and cultural ecology.
The Cultural Compact is signalling to the Global Majority arts and culture community by acknowledging their contribution to the BCP cultural ecology by actioning a financially time-sensitive investment to re-energise the network and identify a new roadmap for a unified voice.
If you are a local artist, organisation, or community leader, and might be interested in joining or supporting the Your Shout network, please contact Natasha at hello@natashaplayer.co.uk. Their next in-person meeting will be in September.
